WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — New Hanover Regional Medical Center is one of the 2013 “Health Strong” Hospitals. That puts NHRMC among the top 2.5 percent of hospitals in the nation.
A study by iVantage Health Analytics ranks NHRMC as one of the top 100 hospitals in the country. The recognition is based on eight categories, including quality of care and overall costs to patients.
President and CEO Jack Barto says it shows they are prepared for future changes in the healthcare industry.
“I think it shows that we are operating well, and as these changes come, we’re in a position of strength to succeed,” Barto said. “I think it’s important for New Hanover County, because we are the largest employer.”
The study compared information from more than 4,400 hospitals in the country.
