WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police are searching for a couple of men they say robbed a man at gunpoint early this morning while he was sitting in a car in a Wilmington apartment complex.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. on 130 Spring Ave. in a parking lot in Market North Apartments. Police say a man was sitting in a car there when two men walked up and forced him to get out.

That’s when they say the duo pulled a gun on the man, took his wallet and took off. Police say the victim told them the two men got away with about $40. No one was hurt.

The report mentions that the gun did not come out until the victim was out of the car. If the assailant(s) pulled him out, he could have legally shot them when they reached into his vehicle…….read the NC Castle Doctrine, if you are unfamiliar with it. Sorry to hear you are trusting your well-being to a knife, as even though you give up all your valuables, who is to say the thugs might not still kill you? I trust my .38 Special with hollow points a lot more.

Who is just sitting in their car at 2:30 in the AM. Sounds like there is more to this story like a drug deal gone bad.

could have just returned to his car after walking a date to her door.

could have an early morning job and was leaving for work.

There are 2 very valid reasons 1 could be sitting in a car just before starting the engine.

But, what does that have to do with him being a victim of robbery?

Trying to build a case for their defense when they are apprehended?

He could have stopped by to give a buddy a ride to work.

He could have been just getting home from work.

He could have been out of town and was just getting back.

He could have been from out of town and just arriving at a friend’s house.

The list could go on. Just thought I’d help out a little.

    Tell us you really feel?
Check it out Sir Spamalot: reports of crime being down are just numbers.
Do you think that the police believe crime is down just because they say so?

…you are evidently quite bored. You should take up thumb wrestling with yourself.

Truly sad that the victim was not armed and could have taken this scum out.

Yes he should of protected himself and pulled a gun right back, two against one. He may of got a shot off but I think they would of got him also. I carry a case knife not a gun for that reason. I refuse to pull a gun ( im a very small lady that it can be pulled from me and used on me ) If Im robbed, they can just have everything, now if they grab me…I have the knife and i know where to use it.
