HAMPSTEAD, NC (WWAY) — Two little girls in Pender County made a decision that their mother, Michelle Crisco says was shocking.

Crisco says she was surprised after her five year-old daughter Saylor decided to cut off her hair and donate to locks of love

She told her mother what she wanted to do and why she felt like she needed to give back.

Both Saylor and her younger sister Kaylee won titles in the recent Relay for Life pageant.

Michelle says that’s where it all started. “That’s when we started discussing children with cancer, what happens,” she said.

Younger sister Kaylee says she was happy to give back.

“Little girls don’t have any hair, so we need to donate it,” Kaylee said.

Both of the Crisco girls say they are so happy to be able to give back and they love their new haircut.

I think this is a great story and wonderful to see some positive news here. These pageants are great and they represent so much. They also teach these young ladies how to give back to our community. Congrats to both of you. And to your mom for supporting you..
