Elizabethtown residents are looking forward to a new place to buy locally-grown produce. An open-air farmer's market is coming to Bladen County to help revitalize downtown Elizabethtown.

It will be located on the corner of Martin Luther King Junior Drive and West King Street on the property that is currently operated by Inman's Red and White Supermarket. It will be paid for using grant money.

Elizabethtown Town Manager Eddie Madden said, "Bladen County loses over $65 million a year in revenue to adjoining counties, this is one opportunity for us to be able to capture some of that revenue and encourage people to shop locally."

The project has been in the works for the past two years and should be complete by next summer.
