View the video for "55 & Alive" here.
As you may have heard from my friends here at WWAY, I celebrated a birthday this week.
I never thought of 55 as a big deal.
It certainly seems a lot younger to me now than it did when I was 30.
Usually it’s those birthdays with the zeroes on the end that are the ballyhooed bell- weather birthdays.
If 55 is the new 45, then I’m in the middle of my prime, right?
Not according to AC Nielsen.
No longer am I in that coveted 25 to 54 audience and advertising demographic.
It somehow makes me feel a little less relevant.
The trade off is that I can now get into the movies at the Carmike Cinema at the senior rate.
The salt is giving the pepper a run for its money up top and I may have lost a step or two on the ball diamond, but I’m hanging in there pretty well.
Round up a few old guy restaurant discounts and I may just learn to like this new demographic just fine.
