Election Day 2009 is just a little more than two weeks away.
Surprised?
After last year’s high profile barn burner of an affair, the election of 2009 is a relative yawner.
Last year we elected a president, governor, US senator, and state legislators.
Who cares about a few local races this year?
We should.
Your vote really counts on the local level.
What’s decided at town hall often has a much more direct affect on our daily lives than what’s decided in Washington or Raleigh.
I was a panelist on a Wilmington candidates’ forum this week.
We have some very clear choices for mayor and city council.
Many of the candidates hold dramatically different views.
That’s the case in a number of our communities across the Cape Fear region.
Learn who these candidates are, what they believe, their plans.
You still have plenty of time to do that.
Don’t just vote on November 3rd; cast an informed vote.
Then you’ll have every right to complain about the government we get if it’s not to your liking.
