A local insurance agent is in trouble with the law. Don Bullard was arrested Tuesday night after a search of his Wilmington home.
Bullard is charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver ecstasy along with destroying evidence.
Bullard was taken to the New Hanover County jail, posted bond, and released.
The Wilmington police vice narcotics detectives say this is an on-going investigation.
Bullard was once one of State Farm's top agents nationwide, selling insurance to more than 7,000 households in the Wilmington area. About a year ago, Bullard left State Farm over what he said were "philosophical reasons" to represent various agencies.

Court of Public Opinion is too quick to Condemn
The 24/7 media cycle, and the court of public opinion doesn't give the courts time to actually evaluate the evidence and come to reasonable conclusions. People end up persecuting the suspect or the police. Persecuting either before the courts do their job is the wrong answer. Let's just stay informed and remember:

How do we know that this isn't a couple of girls that are mad with him and have sat out to take him down. I mean look at this man and what he has done in the community.I mean some people do throw everything away O.J. case in point. But why don't we sit back and get the facts before hang him in the middle of the street

long been known for hanging out with the girls from Pure Gold and inviting them and their friends to his house for a "get-together". Rumors have circulated for years about his "after office hours" activities. However, he is innocent until proven guilty by a jury of his peers.

I think there is enough incriminating evidence based on preliminary reports to get a conviction.A plea bargain may be his best option but people with financial influence are sometimes able to finagle out of trouble , O J is a prime example. The drugs were probably used to attract young women for sexual favors. It is a shame because he appeared to be very successful and his life is destroyed regardless of how this plays out.

He does an excellent job at a great rate, and I couldn't care less what he does on his off time. He's handled my insurance for years and I know i'm well taken care of.

I care what my insurance agent does on his own time, especially if ITS illegal. Shows major lack of character. He most surely partakes of the drugs he sells. Guess he wasn't making enough selling insurance.

It's a shame how quickly people judge these days. If i'm not mistaken you are innocent until proven guilty...I'd say don't forget the news outlets will slander him quickly and rarely if ever recant after they have destroyed someones name...

Again, three or four pills, they could have been a prescribed med, again a waste of 11 month investigation, Innocent UNTILL PROVEN GIULTY , Go downtown at 2 in the morning ,arrest the crack dealers! Oh thats right that won't get allot of attention, thats after all what sells papers for the star news. remember the Duke lacrosse case , don't be so quick to judge! They were Ahhhhh i think they were found to be innocent due to a over Zealous DA, do you remember that case??????? They wanted to hang those boys , how quick we forget!

Seems the Wilmington Police dept fished a long time to catch a minnow. A 11 month investigation to find three ecstasy pills? How about arresting some drug traffickers? Seems like a waste of resources to me.

If I read the reports correctly from the Star News it said he had a few pills (of what?). So for a few pills they took computers, papers, cash etc.
One reason I mention the house is if he was manufacturing drugs in it cant it be taken? A few pills does not a manufacturer make.
There has to be more to this for those charges, if not then it looks like a set up to me.
