The Port City Chargers took charge of the North American Football League (NAFL) last Saturday with their 34 – 0 win over the previously undefeated Carolina Predators of Myrtle Beach, SC.

About 400 fans came out in Southport, NC to show their love of football and support of the Port City Chargers. “Without a field to play on in Wilmington we moved our game to Southport after their city parks and recreation department rolled out the red carpet for us” said team President and Co-owner Troy Vasos. “It was a great football atmosphere here in Southport and everyone really enjoyed the 34 – 0 victory.”

The action started off quickly as the Chargers scored on their first two positions of the game going up 16 – 0 in the first six minutes of the game; from there, the now 8-1 Chargers never looked back.

The Chargers are on the road for their next two games and a bye week for Labor Day before returning home on 9/6/08 vs. The Carolina Commanders.
