The tuberculosis tests are back for people possibly exposed to the disease in the Brunswick County Jail. Of the four hundred plus tests administered to inmates and employees, 33 people tested positive.

The Mobile Evacuation Bus is Brunswick County's new tool to assist in emergencies. It has room to transport 20 patients on a stretcher and 10 wheelchair patients. It can be easily reconfigured to transport up to 30 wheelchairs or used as a rehabilitation unit at major fire and rescue scenes.

The city of Southport kicked off its Fourth of July Festival Saturday with its annual Freedom Run.
Dozens of joggers participated in the 5K and 1K races that circled historic Southport along the Cape Fear waterfront.
