The digital switch is a good time to get rid of any old or unused electronics. Do not just toss them in the trash though.

An electronic recycling event is happening Saturday at the Wal-Mart in Monkey Junction.

If you have old TV's, computers, microwaves and pretty much anything with a cord, you can bring it to be recycled.

Organizers say there are many reasons why you should recycle electronics.

Organizer Lynn Bestul said, "…the space they take up in the landfill, and TV's and computers can do landfill damage at our site."

New Hanover County has held this event about four or five times and has collected more than 30 tons of old electronics.

Saturday's event runs from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Electronics recycling?

Can this Electronics recycling service be offered more frequently? How often is this event held and when will the next event take place? Thanks!
