Encouragement Day in Elizabethtown

An Elizabethtown minister is trying to help bridge the racial gap in his community.

He wants everyone to come out for Encouragement Day -- a day of fun, music, fellowship and unity.

Joe Lowery, Encouragement Day organizer, said, "By doing so you will help area needy children that have not the means to get school supplies. So we'll be helping kids out with school supplies and things that they need for the school year."

Encouragement Day is this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Martin Luther King Park in Elizabethtown.
