WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A popular culinary experience is returning to downtown Wilmington this weekend as Feast Down East partners once again with Taste Carolina Gourmet Tours for a fundraising event highlighting local food, farmers, and restaurants.

The Taste Carolina Food Tour Fundraiser will take place on Saturday, June 13, offering guests a guided walking tour through Wilmington while sampling dishes from locally owned restaurants. The experience showcases ingredients sourced from regional farmers and supports Feast Down East’s mission to strengthen Southeastern North Carolina’s food system.

Participants will enjoy savory and sweet tastings at five downtown restaurants, with many stops also featuring curated beverage pairings. In addition to sampling food, guests will meet local chefs and learn more about Wilmington’s culinary scene and historic downtown district. Organizers describe the event as a social, immersive fundraiser that blends storytelling, community connection, and local flavor.

Tickets are priced at $140, with a portion of proceeds benefiting Feast Down East. Because the tour covers approximately two leisurely miles on foot, guests are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes. The event will take place rain or shine.

Feast Down East works to strengthen farming communities across Southeastern North Carolina by providing resources, education, and distribution opportunities for farmers while also addressing equitable food access in underserved communities. More information about the organization is available at Feast Down East.
