Navy training in local waters

When members of our armed forces are not deployed, they often spend time training, getting ready for their next call to duty.

More than 300 sailors from the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command joined together for an intense week of training at the Sunny Point military base.

Each sailor participates in drills that will come in handy in real life situations out at sea.

U.S. Navy Captain Anthony Kreuger said, "What we are doing is exercising our full range of capabilities for the units that are present here in preparation for deployments in the future."

These sailors say training like this makes them better prepared to protect our seas.
