The Charleston Battery soccer squad made the Wilmington Hammerheads pay for a slow start at Legion Stadium on Sunday. The Hammerheads outplayed the Battery in the second half, but it was too little too late for Wilmington.

Former UNCW catcher Cody Stanley recorded his first major league hit on Sunday for the St. Louis Cardinals. It was a line drive single in the 8th inning. Stanley eventually scored, but the Cardinals lost 6-3 to Milwaukee.

BRUNSWICK CO, NC (WWAY)– The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after Winnabow residents reported bags of rice sitting in their driveways over the weekend.
