Wilmington-area television viewers now have access to up-to-the-minute local weather information and severe weather coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on the only all local, all weather station in the area.

WWAY NewsChannel 3's 24/7 Weather can be found on Time Warner Cable Channel 903. The all local weather station can also be received on a digital television receiver system on channel 3-2.

WWAY NewsChannel 3's 24/7 Weather features the station's exclusive Live Super Doppler 3 Network, along with regional and national satellite and radar images; up-to-the-moment current condition reports; WWAY local, regional and national Futurecasts -- extended forecasts for 5 and 7 days; travel forecasts; and a variety of forecasts for weather affecting boating, fishing, golfing and other activities.

The continuous weathercast combines local and national weather information enabling viewers to track severe weather as it is happening. "You won't have to wait for Weather on the 8s.

"You can tune in and see what the current weather is, getting the up-to-the-moment forecast for your neighborhood," said Chris Phillips, WWAY NewsChannel 3's Chief Meteorologist. "Now viewers will have instant access to local weather information on the first 24/7 local weathercast in the Wilmington area, bringing together in-depth local weather information along with a national view," Phillips said. "And our Live Super Doppler 3 Network radar is a primary advantage of WWAY 24/7 Weather so you never have to wait to see what's on the live radar."

"We've created an attractive and easy-to-view 'L-Bar' display wrapped around the television screen. The 'L Bar' will carry live, local weather data, while viewers watch video in the other portion of the screen," said Phillips.

The WWAY 24/7 Weather will feature a 15-minute format that will provide continual monitoring of current conditions at the official weather service reporting stations throughout the area.
