With prices on just about everything going up, things can be tough for seniors living on a fixed income.
Officials at Home Instead Senior Care say many seniors are facing expenses they never had to worry about, like high utility bills, increased prescription costs, and expensive food.
Experts say it is important to know when your loved ones may be trying to cut back too much.
Home Instead Senior Care spokesperson Ann Lareau said, "When seniors are elderly are cutting out social gatherings, eating out, normal activities, when they start cutting those, this is also important because it's eliminating socialization for them and that's not good. You don't want your elders to be isolated."
Older adults can stretch their dollars by looking for sales on food items, and asking for generic versions of their medications.
