Opening day for surgical pavillion

It was opening day for New Hanover Regional Medical Center's Surgical Pavilion.

Seventy-five surgeries were scheduled for today, making it impossible to even get inside to shoot video.

The facility is more than 186,000 square feet.

There are 76 private surgical prep rooms and 26 operating rooms, not to mention state of the art equipment.

Most importantly, all of these new amenities means better care for patients.

This Surgical Pavilion is the first part of New Hanover Regional's $220 million building plan to be completed.
