The search for an alleged murderer ended yesterday with the suspect turning a gun on himself.

Investigators found Anthony Bowen in a wooded area in Jacksonville.

Bowen was wanted for the murder of Tarica Pulliam.

She was Bowen's ex-girlfriend, and a jailer for the New Hanover County Sheriffs Department.

Ms. Pulliam had a restraining order against Bowen. She was gunned down outside her home Wednesday morning, in her uniform, on her way into work.

There will be a public viewing Sunday at 6 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home off Dawson Street.

Her funeral is Monday at noon at Union Missionary Baptist Church off Princess Place Drive.

Pulliam leaves behind a seven-year-old daughter.

A scholarship fund has been set up at State Employees Credit Union for those who wish to donate money.
