Thursday night, many voters met the candidates in a number of local races. Candidates for town council and mayor from Carolina Beach, Kure Beach and Leland fielded questions from residents.

The Town of Kure Beach recently got a $500,000 to improve a park. The money comes from the state's Natural Heritage Trust Fund.
It will go toward the town's Ocean Front Park.
