WILMINGTON -- It's the end of an era in downtown Wilmington. Tom's Drug Company closed Wednesday after 75 years of business. It's been family-owned and operated since the seventies by the Harrington family.
The folks who work at Tom's say it's hard to see the doors close.
Employee Dusty Wilkins said, "It's a rage of emotions. I'm so thrilled to have been a part of this wonderful establishment. And I'll miss my customers that just drop in."
The Rite Aid on 16th and Dawson Street is taking over the Tom's services.
Many of the employees say the silver lining on this cloud is that Rite Aid has offered them positions and they'll still be working together.

good riddens.
good riddens.
Tom's Crazies
One time I was standing out in front of Tom's waiting on a friend...this guy comes out of Tom's and asks me if I have any batteries?!?!?
I told him-no, go back in there-i'm sure they have some. Very strange!
Sad
another Downtown icon bites the dust, way to go city council it's almost all restaurants and bars now, way to slowly ruin the atmosphere of downtown. With the parking "Nazis" always on patrol why would anyone want to go downtown during the daytime now?
