Congratulations are in order for two members of the WWAY family. Marcy Cuevas and John Rendleman have received a media of the year award.

The award is from the North Carolina Animal Rabies Control Association. Doctor Jean McNeil, with New Hanover County Animal Control, nominated Marcy and John for the work they have done to raise awareness of animal care, control and welfare.

“If we don't have our media contacts to give the right word out, and we're not the ones that have the right connection with them, then the community doesn't know what's going on. We're grateful that you're there and able to help us tell the truth of what goes on in our community,” said Dr. McNeil.

Marcy was nominated for her Pet Pals reports every Tuesday on Good Morning Carolina. John was nominated for his Dangerous Dog Court stories.
