About Me

Joe joined the WWAY news team in July 2006.

He grew up in Brooklyn, New York and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Syracuse University.

He has degrees in broadcast journalism and psychology and a minor in Sociology. While at Syracuse he became a member of the National society of collegiate scholars.

Joe is also a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity and upon graduation earned the honor of his chapter's Balfour Award: for a senior who exemplifies the fraternity's ideals both in the classroom and in the community.

He is dedicated to the community he lives in and is always looking to get involved in activities and initiatives.

While in Syracuse he participated in a Catholic Charities program to help refugees get settled. He was a regular participant in the Meals-on-Wheels program, and volunteered at regular food drives for a local pantry.

Before coming to Wilmington he served as an intern at the cable station Fox News in New York City where he decided he wanted to pursue a career in journalism.

"I love the fast paced nature of the industry, being involved in the community, meeting new people, and finding out both sides of the story."

Joe loves to travel. He spent three months living with a family in Melbourne Australia, backpacked along the Mediterranean in Europe, and celebrated St. Patrick's Day in Ireland.

In his free time, Joe likes to keep active. He is a member of the Wilmington YMCA and can often be found in the weight room, playing basketball, or on the racquetball courts.

"I am excited to be a part of the Wilmington community and look forward to experiencing all of the communities history and getting to know the area."
